Our staff have completed Animal First Aid courses, to ensure we are up to date with our industry knowledge - giving you peace of mind that your cats are as comfortable in our care, as they would be in your own home.
The Extra Mile
Soft classical music is played at an ambient volume throughout the cattery, this has been proven to have a calming effect on felines as it replicates the background noise of the home environment.
We use Feliway - this product is a spray that is an analogue to a pheromone that cats release through their glands on their faces when they are feeling relaxed, this calms them down, aiding the relief of stress and anxiety during their stay.
Cats love to explore - we have recently installed cat trees in every unit with multiple levels for them to climb (they also double up great as a scratch post), cats naturally like to rest at heights where they feel safe, that's why in addition to the multi-level shelves, we have installed customised cat hides which have been an instant hit, the at height hide has become the choice of many whilst relaxing during the day time as naturally a high location provides a cat with a better vantage point to spot prey and predator alike.
We have also recently added a pond that the cattery runs look onto which is already home to an array or wildlife (as well as our now 15 resident Canadian Geese and 2 Khaki Campbell Ducks). A lot of our guests love to lay outside and watch during their relaxing times throughout the day.
We have installed 2 bird feeding tables we keep topped that the cat runs look out onto, cats naturally are hunters and love to watch the different species of birds fly in.
